Happy New Year to everyone, after the crazy year we’ve had, lets make 2021 a good one!
Hope you all had a lovely Christmas, it was a hot sunny day here and we spent most of the day sitting outside in the cockpit (as the restrictions prevented us from going anywhere). Dinner seemed to go down quite well!

After dinner and a few drinks the sun started to go down.

It’s been a quiet week going in and out of lockdown, the weather has clouded over a bit and we have had some showers. Apparently it normally gets more winter like here during January and February so my next job over the coming weeks is to make a cockpit enclosure. It is something we have been planning for a while but we finally got around to ordering the materials which have now all arrived. Getting started on these big projects is always a bit daunting and I have used every excuse to do something else instead.

Some people have been testing out their new Christmas toys. I couldn’t resist the opportunity when I was invited to try paddle boarding this week. Having never done it before I was convinced that I would fall in.

I don’t want to let go of this rope!
I left the calm marina with very shaky legs and went out to sea, it was tricky over the waves but I was very pleased to eventually return back without having fallen in (my legs were like jelly when I stepped back onto the pontoon and tried to walk).

It is suggested that paddle boarding is very good exercise and I can definitely confirm this, muscles that I didn’t know existed were aching for three days, I need to save up for one of these and get fit.
We welcomed the new year in with a party and game tournament on 2 boats, where we had delicious food, wine, silly hats and lots of laughs.

Thank you all for taking the time to read our blogs over the last 6 months and for the lovely comments that you’ve made, we always look forward to hearing from you.
As we will be staying here in Sicily for the next few months, we may not have too much to tell you each week so the blogs might be less frequent until we set sail again. Please let us know if there is anything that you would like to hear about in the meantime.
